The history of Crete during the centuries shaped a unique cuisine. The many conquerors, the wars, the rich Cretan ground formed a cuisine with some main characteristics: clean flavours, consistent use of olive oil and herbs, the frequent use of simple ingredients to make healthy dishes full of aroma.
Mrs Eftichia, having learnt from her mother Sofia the authentic Cretan flavours during her childhood, kept this philosophy until today.
This precious knowledge her sons, Giorgos and Panagiotis Chatzimanolakis, decided to offer to the public by opening a small taverna in 1995 in Ano Stalos, Chania, Crete.
Taverna “Leventis” was embraced by the public as well as the food critics/food columnists, winning many gourmet awards.
